Endeavors to foster integration of overseas Vietnamese in the Czech Republic

The Association of Vietnamese People in the Czech Republic is increasingly energizing its activities to meet the needs of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, promoting cultural identity and national tradition.

The Association of Vietnamese People in the Czech Republic has undertaken many initiatives and activities, all aimed at promoting solidarity and fostering the integration of Vietnamese in the Czech Republic.

Recently, a Czech-Vietnamese cultural exchange was held in Brno city, South Moravia with the aim of strengthening friendship between the two countries.

The city of Brno and the South Moravia region are known for their significant Vietnamese population, second only to Prague.

Petra Quittova, Chairwoman of the Czech-Vietnam Inter-Parliamentary Group, underscored the significance of bilateral cooperation in her speech at the program, and expressed  her gratitude for the interest and support of the guests and community during the cultural exchange night. She is optimistic about the program's potential to establish itself as a regular event in the coming years.

The hard-working qualities of Vietnamese, particularly the second generation, are highly valued by Brno City Mayor Marketta Vankova, who recognizes their exceptional intelligence, outstanding academic achievements, and strong integration abilities.

The community is actively involved in a range of social activities, including donating to charity, raising funds for orphans, and offering support in the aftermath of natural disasters.

Vankova expressed her gratitude to the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic for their companionship and support during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as their involvement in the city's overall endeavors.

The Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Thai Xuan Dung, thanked the organizing committee and the leaders of Brno and South Moravia  for their support in facilitating the integration of the Vietnamese community.

Thai Xuan Dung expressed his firm belief that the preservation of Vietnamese identity will serve to further enrich and diversify Czech culture.

During the conference to assess recent community activities and set  key objectives for 2024, Nguyen Duy Nhien, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, provided a comprehensive review and evaluation of the association's work. He emphasized the strength and unity of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, highlighting their mutual support during challenging times.

The Association's Board of Directors candidly admitted deficiencies in organization and coordination, and proposed remedial measures to enhance operational efficiency.

Hoang Dinh Thang, President of the Union of Vietnamese People's Association in Europe, and Honorary Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, said  that since its establishment nearly 25 years ago, the association has broadened its organizational and professional endeavors, catering to the needs of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.

The association has carried out many practical initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting the culture and traditions of the nation.

Despite the many challenges posed by the economic and food crisis resulting from the conflict in Ukraine, the efforts of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic have resulted in positive positive developments in the previous year. A variety of customary Vietnamese activities were held, such as the Mid-Autumn Festival, Lunar New Year, and traditional festivals...

The Vietnamese People's Association in the Czech Republic also actively supported many volunteer activities, sharing difficulties with the homeland of Vietnam, towards the Spratlys and Paracels Islands. Throughout the last year, the Vietnamese People's Association in the Czech Republic held discussions with leaders of the State Party, Ministries, and branches, visiting the Czech Republic effectively expressing the community's thoughts and aspirations to the    delegations.

In the run-up to the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Association, and at the same time organizing the 7th Congress for the term 2024-2029, the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese People's Association in the Czech Republic has set a focus  for 2024, namely to encourage the solidarity in the community to stabilize life in a difficult and complex world situation; to continue to enhance the beautiful image of the Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic.

The Executive Committee of the Vietnamese People's Association in the Czech Republic has coordinated with Vietnamese representative agencies in the Czech Republic to update policies and procedures related to Vietnamese people abroad and new policies and laws of the host country and  do a better job of helping the Vietnamese community with life, legal procedures, and integrate more deeply and widely into the local society.
