The 2024 Vietnam Craft Village Festival will be held from October 3 to 6 in Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi.

The 2024 Vietnam Traditional Craft Village Fair  will showcase a variety of activities, including a display honoring products from traditional craft villages and recognition for award-winning items from the Hanoi Handicraft Competition.

The fair will feature a wide range of handicrafts from Hanoi and 30 other provinces, including Bat

The fair will feather traditional handicrafts and agricultural products from the capital and 30 other provinces. Attendees can expect a rich variety of items, including Bat Trang ceramics, My Duc silk, and Thang Tien embroidery, among others.

Organized by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Center for Agriculture (Agritrade), the fair aims to promote traditional craft villages and honor the artisans behind these skilled crafts. It will also connect consumers with products from the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, highlighting the importance of local craftsmanship.

In addition to handicrafts, the festival will feature agricultural products that meet OCOP standards of three stars or higher. Geographically labeled products and organic offerings from across the country will also be showcased, emphasizing Vietnam's diverse agricultural heritage.

Vietnam is home to over 5,000 active artisan villages, with more than 2,000 recognized as traditional, employing nearly 1.6 million workers, as noted by Agritrade Director Nguyen Minh Tien. Many of these villages have a long-standing history, some dating back 500 to 1,000 years, and are known for their unique contributions to both local and international markets.

The fair will serve as a platform for local businesses, artisans, and agricultural officials to gain insights into market demands, value chains, and sustainable production trends.

On October 4, the event will feature live-streaming of agricultural and OCOP products for direct sale through the "OCOP Market" channel on TikTok, making it easier for consumers to access these offerings.

Hanoi has enacted Resolution No. 9 to foster the development of cultural industries, prioritizing the growth of handicrafts and craft villages up to 2025, with an extended vision through 2030. This initiative includes various mechanisms and policies aimed at preserving and advancing the rich heritage of Hanoi's artisan communities.
