Both leaders praised the strong, effective progress in the Vietnam-Indonesia Strategic Partnership across various sectors. The two sides committed to working towards raising bilateral trade to $18 billion soon and encouraged businesses from both countries to explore investment opportunities in each other's markets, particularly in emerging areas such as the Halal industry, digital economy, green economy, energy transition, and the development of an electric vehicle ecosystem. Vice President Xuan urged Indonesia to facilitate access for Vietnamese agricultural products and Halal goods in the Indonesian market, as well as for Vietnamese investment projects in Indonesia.
Additionally, the leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in other critical areas such as defense, security, transnational crime prevention, and maritime collaboration. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to closely coordinate and support each other in regional and global forums. Both leaders stressed the importance of maintaining ASEAN's unity and central role in addressing regional issues, including the East Sea, and emphasized the need for substantive, effective negotiations on the Code of Conduct (COC) in line with international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
