The two leaders emphasized the importance of the traditional ties between their ruling parties as a foundation for the continued growth of bilateral relations.

Both sides committed to ongoing collaboration in theoretical research, knowledge-sharing, and training of personnel. They also pledged mutual support at international forums and to promote cooperation with organizations such as ASEAN, the African Union (AU), and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

In terms of economic cooperation, they highlighted the success of the joint telecommunications venture Movitel, a subsidiary of Viettel, which has significantly contributed to both countries' economic development. President Nyusi expressed hope for more groundbreaking projects like Movitel and encouraged exploring new opportunities for cooperation.

The two countries also plan to strengthen collaboration in cashew nut processing and seafood production, while facilitating market access for key products such as agricultural goods, textiles, seafood, and coal.

Additionally, Mozambique hoped for further Vietnamese support in agricultural development through trilateral projects, a model that has been successful in other African nations. Both sides also discussed expanding cooperation in education and training, with President Nyusi praising the contributions of Vietnamese health professionals to Mozambique's healthcare system.

To implement these commitments, both leaders agreed to enhance the efficiency of cooperation mechanisms, such as the Intergovernmental Committee and political consultations. They also agreed to fast-track the signing of bilateral agreements in areas like digital transformation, education, and training.

On regional security, the two leaders emphasized the importance of ensuring maritime safety and freedom of navigation in the South China Sea, advocating for resolving disputes in line with international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

General Secretary and President Lam praised Mozambique’s achievements in maintaining political stability and socio-economic development. President Nyusi, in turn, expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s development and conveyed condolences for the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, while offering solidarity with Vietnamese people affected by the recent typhoon.

At the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding between their respective ministries, focusing on energy, minerals, agriculture, and fisheries cooperation.
