Overview of the event.

Within the framework of the 19th Francophonie Summit, the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) held the One Global Vietnam - La Francophonie 2024 Forum (OGVF 2024) in Paris on October 5-6, with the theme "Promoting Dynamic Cooperation." The event gathered around 100 experts, scientists, and partners from various fields and 10 countries, aiming to explore the Francophonie's prospects in today's world, particularly Vietnam's key role in fostering this dynamic cooperation after 54 years as an active member of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).

OGVF 2024 also drew attention from notable figures such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Van Anh, Vietnam's Permanent Representative to UNESCO, as well as representatives from Panthéon-Assas University (Paris II) and key international organizations, including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), OIF, the French Development Agency (AFD), and the World Organization for Animal Health.

During the opening session, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong, Executive Director of EMLV Business School and President of AVSE Global, emphasized that Vietnam, as a member of the Francophonie, plays an active role in Asia and serves as a bridge for multi-sector cooperation, particularly in economic diplomacy between Asia and the Francophonie.

The forum aimed to focus on deepening dialogues around Vietnam’s geopolitical, economic, technological, educational, healthcare, and cultural strengths, aligned with strategic countries like France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Canada, as well as emerging economies in Africa.

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh welcomed the initiative to organize the OGVF 2024 Forum and affirmed that the overseas intellectual community acts as ambassadors connecting Vietnam to the world. He stressed that the Party and State value the contributions and advice of overseas Vietnamese intellectuals to national development, citing the approval of several resolutions related to nurturing talent abroad, such as Resolution 45, which enhances the development of overseas human resources.

Through discussions and roundtables, attendees listened to experts share insights on frameworks for unity within the Francophonie and the economic, health, and educational advancements of North-South and South-South cooperation. Key topics included common concerns beyond language that could unite the Francophonie, its potential to address global challenges such as climate change and inequality, and strategies for national and regional cooperation to unlock the full potential of North-South-South collaboration.

At OGVF 2024, both Vietnamese and international experts provided strategic solutions, highlighting Vietnam’s role in trade and technology, the actions Vietnamese intellectuals can take to help the nation become a financial hub with innovation, green and inclusive growth, and the challenges and opportunities in health and education in the Francophonie.

In an interview with Vietnam News Agency in France, Dr. Vo Phuong Nga, AVSE Global’s Director of Finance and Partnerships, expressed hope that the Francophonie Summit and the visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to France would create a significant impact through the OGVF 2024 Forum, gathering Vietnamese experts from Francophone countries and beyond to exchange ideas and propose action plans that enhance Vietnam's role in the Francophonie. This would promote the country's participation in dynamic multilateral cooperation in culture, art, education, healthcare, trade, and technology.

"In the context of the Francophonie striving for global prominence, Vietnam can play a leading role, and the contributions at the Forum, as well as subsequent projects in Vietnam, will help build and elevate this leadership position for Vietnam within the Francophonie and globally," Dr. Vo Phuong Nga stated.
