Vietnamese community in Australia strengthens ties with homeland

The Vietnamese community in Australia is strengthening its ties with the homeland through meaningful contributions and expanding partnerships, as demonstrated by recent diplomatic efforts and community engagement.

During a recent meeting with the delegation from the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia, Pham Hung Tam, on behalf of the Party Committee in Australia, presented AUD 12,700 in aid for compatriots affected by Typhoon No. 3, to be transferred back to Vietnam.

On September 25, Ambassador Pham Hung Tam warmly welcomed the delegation led by Pham Tat Thang, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, during their official visit to Australia.

At the meeting, Deputy Head Pham Tat Thang expressed his pleasure at the new developments in Vietnam-Australia relations, acknowledging the efforts of the Vietnamese Embassy in enhancing and strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations, which continues to achieve positive outcomes.

He praised the Embassy's efforts in community engagement, particularly the recent establishment of several associations. He commended the patriotic contributions of these organizations and individuals in supporting the Vietnamese community abroad and fostering stronger connections with their homeland.

Pham Tat Thang also admired the contributions of overseas Vietnamese, the business community, intellectuals of Vietnamese descent, and Vietnamese students living, studying, and working in Australia. Their timely contributions have notably helped the Vietnamese people overcome the aftermath of Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi).

Ambassador Pham Hung Tam was delighted to welcome Deputy Head Pham Tat Thang and the delegation to the Embassy and shared updates on the collaborative efforts following the elevation of relations between the two countries to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
