"In the latest updates from Vietnam's diplomatic missions in Egypt, which are also responsible for Lebanon, Iran, and Israel, the Vietnamese citizens in these areas remain stable and safe," Hang said as she responded to a reporter's inquiry regarding the recent series of communication device explosions that resulted in dozens of deaths and thousands of injuries in Lebanon.
The spokesperson emphasized that Vietnam's diplomatic missions in Egypt, covering Lebanon, Iran, and Israel, will continue to coordinate with local authorities to monitor the situation.
"The diplomatic missions will have plans to protect Vietnamese nationals, and evacuate Vietnamese nationals from dangerous areas," she said.
Vietnam is closely following the developments in the Middle East and expresses deep concern over the recent tensions in the region, Hang added.
"Vietnam calls on all relevant parties to exercise restraint, cease hostilities, enhance dialogue, and resolve disputes through peaceful measures in compliance with international law and the United Nations Charter for the benefit of the people and peace and stability in the region."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Vietnamese citizens in these countries to stay updated on local government information, alerts, and announcements made by the ministry and Vietnamese diplomatic missions in the area to ensure timely responses to any developments.
