HANOI FOREIGN RELATION ACTIVITIES
Under the theme Green Initiatives, the contest this year is to encourage school children to learn more about environmental and climate challenges.
Today, hundreds of Vietnamese students made an amazing spectacle when concurrently putting their green ideas on paintings at the launch of the Denmark in Your Eyes 2024 painting contest in Nguyen Sieu school, Hanoi.
Under the theme Green Initiatives, the contest this year is to encourage school children to learn more about environmental and climate challenges as well as to share their initiatives, thoughts and visions for how to protect our environment and natural resources.
Contestants are invited to unfold their imagination and bring their green ideas on biodiversity, energy efficiency, green energy, reduction of CO2 emissions, green habits, zero plastics, onto paper. The contest is part of the 53rd celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark.
Students from Nguyen Sieu school participated to the contest.
Ambassador of Denmark in Vietnam Nicolai Prytz said he is both honored and excited to attend the launch of the Denmark in Your Eyes painting contest.
“I believe that this is an engaging platform for Vietnamese students to voice and share their thoughts, concerns, hopes and ideas on how to nurture and protect our planet. I cannot wait to see their bold, creative and inspirational ideas on how we can make our planet a green and liveable home for all,” he said.
The competition is open to all Vietnamese students, from both primary and secondary schools. The deadline for submission is December 20. Winners will be announced and awarded at a ceremony at the end of the school year 2024-2025 in Hanoi.
The jury board of the competition will consist of prestigious painters from Kim Dong Publishing House and Thieu Nien Tien Phong and Nhi Dong newspaper and representatives from the Vietnam Denmark Friendship Association (VIDAFA) and Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam.
The first Denmark in Your Eyes contest, co-hosted by VIDAFA and the Embassy of Denmark took place in 2016 during the celebration of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark. The contest has since then been organized on an annual basis – every year with a new theme, but always with a strong focus on the environment and the green agenda.
