Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed this view in a recorded video message presented at the Fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum, held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on September 18.

At the Plenary Session, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his welcoming remarks to the attendees and distinguished guests, emphasized the crucial role of women's active participation in building a multipolar, just, and truly free world.

Valentina Matvienko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly, highlighted that in the current complex geopolitical environment, women must play a key role in shaping a more just and humane world order.

In a pre-recorded speech for the Plenary Session of the Forum, Vice President of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Xuan praised the significant contributions of the Eurasian Women's Forum. She recognized it as an important platform for exchanging ideas and addressing opportunities, challenges, and solutions to enhance women's roles in all sectors of society.

The Vice President stressed that the Forum has sent a powerful message about the importance of women, not only for the development of their own nations but also for peace and sustainable growth in the region and the world.

She further highlighted Vietnam’s achievements in economic and social development in recent years, noting that the country’s standing on the international stage has risen, particularly in ensuring gender equality and empowering women. The role and status of Vietnamese women have been significantly elevated across various fields, especially in politics and economics.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that women, as ambassadors of peace and compassion, should be at the forefront, given greater authority in promoting dialogue, building trust, and enhancing cooperation to foster a world of peace, happiness, and prosperity. Vietnam is committed to continuing its support for women's development, providing opportunities for them to engage with positive global trends, and contributing more significantly to the noble goals set by the United Nations.

The Eurasian Women's Forum, held every three years since its inception in 2015, was initiated by the Federation Council of the Russian Parliament and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The Forum aims to promote women’s roles across all sectors for the goal of building a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.

The 2024 Forum took place from September 18-20 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, under the theme "Women for Strengthening Trust and Global Cooperation," with 1,500 delegates from 126 countries and international organizations, including many female leaders.

The Forum, running until September 20, 2024, featured around 100 meetings and discussions covering diverse topics such as the role of women in shaping the peace and trust agenda, women in the new economic era of technology and innovation, women for a healthy and happy society, women for a clean planet and food security, and women in preserving traditions and promoting diversity.
