In a show of solidarity with Vietnam, international organizations, countries, and territories have recently delivered numerous shipments and provided tens of millions of USD in aid to help the nation recover from the damage caused by typhoon Yagi (or typhoon No.3 in Vietnam).

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has recently completed the reception of emergency aid to support the recovery from Typhoon No. 3 and the post-typhoon floods. This aid came from the embassies of Australia, the UK, India, Switzerland, New Zealand, the US, South Korea, and the United Nations (UN).

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep receives support from international organizations.

Pauline Tamesis, the UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam, stated that in recent days, the UN has assisted Vietnam by organizing assessment teams to evaluate the impact of natural disasters in several regions, focusing on areas such as clean water, sanitation, education, agriculture, and child protection. The UN is committed to continuing its coordination with Disaster Risk Reduction Partners and relevant Vietnamese agencies to mobilize various resources for these areas, contributing to Vietnam's swift recovery from the disasters.

According to statistics from MARD, the Vietnamese government has so far received approximately US$15 million and 200 tons of essential goods from international organizations and embassies. These supplies are being distributed to localities to aid in disaster recovery.

Deputy Minister of MARD, Nguyen Hoang Hiep, expressed hope for continued support from international organizations and embassies, so that provinces heavily affected by Typhoon No. 3 and subsequent floods can quickly restore production and stabilize livelihoods.

To date, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and related parties, MARD has mobilized interest from UN agencies and international organizations, including JICA (Japan), ASEAN's AHA Center, UN agencies (UNDP, UNICEF), and Samaritan’s Purse.

MARD has coordinated the distribution of supplies to provinces such as Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, and Lang Son to support flood-affected residents. In the coming days, Samaritan’s Purse and the governments of Russia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Australia are expected to provide additional relief supplies.
