On the afternoon of October 17, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations held a program for the exchange and sharing of experiences in conducting people-to-people diplomacy among the Asia-Multilateral Friendship Associations.

The overview of the event.

During the event, leaders of the Union reviewed the past nine months, commending the Associations for actively participating in activities promoting peace, friendship, solidarity, and cooperation.

In addition to the regular friendship activities, the program highlighted significant events such as the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being honored by UNESCO as a "City for Peace." Many Associations also contributed to the city's social welfare efforts.

Participants in the program shared valuable practical experiences in organizing peace and friendship activities, from planning to execution, and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with embassies and international partners. Regarding the mobilization of foreign NGOs, several delegates suggested that the Union should enhance training and provide guidance on how to develop effective fundraising and aid mobilization programs, which the Union leadership acknowledged and will consider.

This exchange program provided an opportunity to reflect on both the achievements and challenges in Hanoi's people-to-people diplomacy in recent times. It also contributed to improving the operational capacity of the Union’s member Associations in the Asia-Multilateral region, encouraging innovative thinking and approaches, and finding solutions to further elevate the Union's image and the broader people-to-people diplomacy efforts.
