Over the past five years, the association has received significant support and guidance from the Hanoi Party Committee, the Hanoi People's Committee, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, and the Central Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association.
Building on past successes, the Hanoi branch continues to focus on activities that contribute to the city's people-to-people diplomacy and strengthen the friendship between the citizens of Hanoi and Budapest, as well as between Vietnam and Hungary more broadly.
During the 2019-2024 term, the association actively engaged in foreign relations, maintained strong ties with the Hungarian Embassy, and contributed to Hanoi’s overall diplomacy efforts. These efforts have helped promote mutual understanding between the residents of the two capitals and highlighted Hanoi's dynamic growth and international integration.
For the 2024-2029 term, the association aims to expand key activities, including organizational work, peace, solidarity, friendship efforts, diplomatic protocol, and information dissemination. These initiatives will continue to foster economic, cultural, sports, and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary, particularly between Hanoi and Budapest.
Hungarian Ambassador Baloghdi Tibor, speaking at the event, emphasized the long-standing 74-year friendship between Hungary and Vietnam, which has been nurtured over generations and continues to flourish. He expressed confidence that the Hanoi branch of the Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association would play an active role in celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025, further strengthening mutual understanding between the two nations.
Nguyen Nam Hai, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, commended the association and its member chapters for their creativity, innovation, and flexibility in achieving significant results. He expressed hope that the association will continue to thrive and make valuable contributions to the socio-economic development of Hanoi while furthering the strong relationship between Vietnam and Hungary.
