Diplomatic missions join Hanoi in celebrating its Liberation day

Many foreign missions in Hanoi participated in the city’s 70th Liberation Day celebrations on October 10, adding an international touch to the festivities.

Embassies and representatives of international organizations, including the US, UK, India, South Korea, Israel etc. extended their congratulations to Hanoi.

Among those sending their congratulations was the US Embassy in Vietnam, which posted a message on its official Facebook page, expressing its joy at being part of the vibrant parade celebrating Hanoi's Liberation Day.

Noting the honor of marching alongside their Vietnamese friends, the US mission reflected on the resilience and spirit of this remarkable city and the enduring bonds between the US and Vietnam.

They conveyed deep gratitude to Hanoi for being a symbol of history, culture, and progress, stating: “Together, we continue building a future rooted in mutual respect, shared prosperity, and a growing partnership. Here’s to many more years of friendship and cooperation!”

Meanwhile, the UK Embassy in Vietnam extended their warm wishes to Hanoi on this meaningful day.

“In this joyful atmosphere, the British Embassy joined the vibrant crowd around Hoan Kiem Lake to reflect on the city’s historic milestones. The UK Government reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with the people of Hanoi and Vietnam as a whole to foster a future of security, prosperity, and sustainability,” the embassy stated on its official Facebook page.

British Ambassador Iain Frew was present at the National Convention Center for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day, marking the occasion with pride.

The South Korean Embassy also posted its best wishes for the occasion. As noted on its Facebook page, Ambassador Choi Young Sam attended the national celebration at the National Convention Center on October 10.

In an earlier interview with the Government News (en.baochinhphu.vn), he congratulated Hanoi and drew parallels between the “Miracle on the Han River” and the potential for a "Miracle on the Red River," symbolizing Vietnam's economic development.

The Israeli Embassy in Vietnam took to Facebook to extend its heartfelt congratulations to "Vietnamese friends and the people of Hanoi" on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation.

“The struggle for independence and the protection of Vietnam's sovereignty is an inspiring story for many nations around the world, including Israel,” the embassy said on its official page.

Additionally, the Embassy of India also shared its congratulations on its website, with a logo commemorating this significant celebration.
