Governor of Kaluga region Vladislav Shapshah shared the view during a meeting with Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh on November 22.

During the meeting, Governor Shapsha provided an update on the recent economic and social situation in the Kaluga region. Recognized as one of Russia's most economically advanced regions, Kaluga boasts significant industrial growth, high investment per capita, and increased real income. The province is currently home to 12 world-class scientific research institutes specializing in physics and hydrometeorology.

Shapsha expressed Kaluga's continuous support for foreign businesses, particularly Vietnamese enterprises, by establishing favorable mechanisms for cooperation and investment activities. Notably, TH Truemilk Group is one of the Vietnamese companies with projects in Kaluga.

Looking ahead, Governor Shapsha expressed his desire for continued cooperation between Kaluga and various Vietnamese localities, especially Hanoi, as both countries prepare to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Principles of Friendly Relations between Vietnam and Russia. He envisions ongoing collaboration in various fields, increased cultural exchange activities, and reciprocal delegation visits.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, while congratulating Kaluga on its development achievements, sincerely expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the former Soviet Union and later the Russian Federation during Vietnam's fight for independence and development. He emphasized the importance of extending the enduring friendship between the two countries to the younger generation through cultural exchanges, sports tourism, and educational training in areas where both sides excel.

Furthermore, Thanh underscored the need for continued promotion of economic, trade, and investment ties, advocating for an increased presence of Russian businesses in Vietnam and vice versa. The emphasis is on deepening cooperation for the mutual benefit of both sides.
