At a press conference on September 24, Bruno Jaspaert, new Chairman of EuroCham Vietnam, said that with the theme of “Building Green Futures”, GEFE 2024 will highlight the urgent need for action in tackling the climate crisis and building a greener economy in Vietnam.
“GEFE 2024 will be a vital platform for fostering critical dialogue between government leaders, businesses, and international organizations to address the pressing realities of our changing climate. GEFE will also act as a platform for European companies to showcase their latest cutting-edge solutions to make Vietnam future proof,” the Chairman said.
The three-day event will feature 10 green topics and deliver nearly 30 conference sessions. With more than 8,000 attendees expected from diverse sectors, including B2B and B2G dialogues, participants will have the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and government officials.
Discussions at GEFE 2024 will address key themes such as climate resilience, digitalization, green finance, and sustainable energy transitions, all vital to Vietnam’s Net-Zero goal by 2050, as pledged at COP26.
This year’s plenary and conference sessions at GEFE 2024 will prioritize the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), sustainable energy integration via Power Development Plan 8 (PDP8), and the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
Additional discussions will cover Direct Power Purchase Agreements (DPPA), carbon pricing, climate finance, regenerative farming, blue-green infrastructure, and innovative stormwater management, offering actionable insights from leaders in both sectors.
The exhibition will spotlight advanced green technologies from European and Vietnamese companies, featuring 13 country pavilions showcasing innovations in renewable energy and sustainable manufacturing. Start-ups will also present their solutions, highlighting the next generation of innovators driving Vietnam’s green transition. The exhibition aims to foster partnerships that can transform the green economy.
On October 23, the event will host a Student Day, engaging young leaders in a Business Challenge to address real-world environmental issues. The winning team will receive the Future Sustainability Leaders Award, reflecting EuroCham’s commitment to cultivating future sustainability champions in Vietnam.
In addition to the conference and exhibition, GEFE 2024 will provide networking and B2B matchmaking opportunities, allowing companies to connect with like-minded businesses through tailored sessions designed for meaningful engagements and potential collaborations.
