Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh has signed Plan No. 268/KH-UBND to coordinate the organization of a national scientific conference marking the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (10/10/1954 - 10/10/2024).

The conference aims to further research and clarify scientific arguments and historical documentation regarding the events of the capital's liberation and the subsequent 70 years of building and developing Hanoi. The goal is to affirm the historical significance, draw lessons learned, and propose directions and visions for developing Hanoi as a cultural, civilized, modern, and globally connected city.
Additionally, the conference will contribute to promoting revolutionary traditions, and strengthening the trust of officials, party members, and the public in the leadership of the city’s Party and government during the period of increased integration and development. It will also demonstrate the close collaboration between central agencies and Hanoi in fulfilling development tasks for the capital.
Scheduled for October 2, 2024, the conference will be held at the National Conference Center under the theme: "New Vision, New Opportunities: Building Hanoi as a 'Cultural - Civilized - Modern, Globally Connected' Capital."

The Hanoi People’s Committee has assigned the Hanoi Institute for Economic and Social Development to carry out the designated tasks; act as the focal point for coordination, follow-up, and collaboration with units organizing the conference; and handle the research, editing, and publication of the conference proceedings.
The Hanoi People’s Committee requires close, scientific, and effective coordination; clearly defined responsibilities for the units involved; and a formal, serious, practical, and effective organization of the event.
The national scientific conference is an important and practical activity to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.
