Vietnam leader concludes successful state visit to Cuba

The two leaders of Vietnam and Cuba expressed their determination to continue advancing the traditional solidarity, special friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

On the afternoon of September 27 (local time), General Secretary and State President To Lam, along with his spouse and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, departed from Havana, marking the successful conclusion of the state visit to Cuba.

First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, along with Politburo member Roberto Morales Ojeda, Executive Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and many other Cuban Party and State leaders, came to José Martí Airport to bid farewell to General Secretary and President To Lam, his spouse, and the Vietnamese delegation. This gesture demonstrated Cuba's deep respect for the special brotherhood and friendship between the two Parties, States, and peoples.

During the visit, General Secretary and President To Lam held talks, meetings, and high-level discussions with Cuban Party, State, Government, and National Assembly leaders. He also participated in activities to promote the solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba, raising these ties to a new, higher level.

The two leaders of Vietnam and Cuba expressed their determination to continue advancing the traditional solidarity, special friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. Their goal is to elevate these ties to a new level, ensuring they are more comprehensive, practical, effective, and sustainable, based on mutual cooperation and development for the cause of socialism, the benefit of both peoples, and for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and globally.

During the visit, on behalf of the Cuban Party and State, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President Miguel Díaz-Canel hosted a ceremony to award the José Martí Order to General Secretary and President To Lam.

This is the highest honor of the Cuban Party and State, recognizing General Secretary and President To Lam's invaluable contributions to fostering the solidarity, friendship, and loyalty between the Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba. In their discussions and meetings, both sides emphasized the historical significance of the special, loyal, and transparent friendship between the two brotherly nations, Vietnam and Cuba.

During the state visit, General Secretary and President To Lam, his spouse, and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation also visited and laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in the park named after him in Havana.
